How to use this map
How to view reports via the map
The red circles on the map represent violence in particular regions. The closer you zoom in the more accurate the placement of the circles to where the violence has taken place.
To zoom into a particular region or city, move the map by dragging it with your mouse to the location you want and then hit the ‘+’ button to zoom in. You will see the circles and numbers change as you do so.

Clicking on the circle will produce a pop up window.

Click on the link '## reports' to get a table of the reports.
You can then click on the report titles to get full details on the individual reports.
To add a report to this map
Hit the green button “submit a report” that appears in the upper right hand corner

You will then see the following form:

- Enter in a report title, it should be short (four to six words) and descriptive, for example: 'Refused to provide medical Services.'' Remember, this might be the only part of the report that someone sees.
- Enter a description which answers the questions: what`s happened and where? For example: "I take drugs and provide sex services on the route Kharkiv – Simferopol. I was working when police car with 3 men in uniform drove up from the district department (Kommunarskiy police department) and told me to get into the car. They began to demand money, threaten to impose administrative penalty. I didn't have money, so they took me to the forest and raped all three in turn. They abandoned me there and left. I hardly crawled to the road and then barely got home. I didn't ask for help anyone because I was ashamed." Keep in mind the victim's safety and security: is there anyway the identity of the victim can be determined from the details provided?
- Click on Modify Date and choose the date and time the incident happened. Approximation of the date is fine.
- Please select a category. You can select one or more categories.

- If your city doesn’t appear in the drop down menu then scroll down to the “find location” dialogue box.

- Please double check that the pin is in the correct location. If the pin doesn't appear where you think it should, please retry.
- Use news source link for the link of any online story or news article related to the incident. Use an external video link for any relevant online video. Use the upload photos if you have any digital photos related to the incident.
- Hit submit. Please note that your report will not appear on the map until it has been approved by one of the site administrators. After your report is approved it will appear in the list according to the date of the incident (most recent incidents appear first).
